    Hi all,

Not that I need a job or anything right now... But I always wanted to move myself and my family to Tennessee. There is nothing up here that thrills me anymore. I mean, I have an excellent job with an excellent company. But, I have lived here in WV/KY all my life and am beyond ready for a change. I'd be willing to give up the great job here at B & C to start over in TN.

I really prefer an end dump job hauling asphalt or gravel, but will do anything to make a buck. I recently turned 10 :biggrin_25525: (10 years exp. that is)
with 7 of that in end dump.

Call me crazy, but even though I have made it up here for years, I just don't wanna live here anymore.

So, if anyone down there wants to give a worn out fat boy in a mack some insight on the condition of the job market in the afore mentioned parts of tennessee, please.....indulge me.

    Rant over....

Oops... I fell backwards off my soapbox.:biggrin_25526:

Not real good around the knoxville area i know one of the biggest constructon co around laid off most of there dump truck drivers back in the early spring. They have since hired a few back but not much else going on. I have some friends that have a few tri axle dumps and the only thing they have been doing are state work hauling asphalt the last few months. Some of the other big companies around here might be busy but dont know anybody that works for those companies to ask.

    kc8vje Thanks this.

    I appreciate the reply.

I was afraid of that as the economy has started taking it's toll here in the coalfelds. Most of our major mining companies are laying off workers and shutting down operations at mines scattered all across the area. This seems sort of a moot point, but the mining industry is our bread and butter in hard times as they always have a need for gravel....Lots and lots of gravel.

I have noticed asphalt work slacking off here as well... But not to the point of affecting the paycheck. just no constant Saturday work. (YAY!!!)

Anyhoo, It was just a thought. I'd hate to give up the job I have now anyway just to be laid off down there. Besides, I'm #2 on the totem pole where I work at now. :biggrin_25525:
