I don't consider myself to be a waste of taxpayers money. I paid every penny myself. I asked for nothing from anyone.

Wats up fellas & ladies? I came out of driving school(SAGE/ISOTHERMAL) from out of Spindale NC on 11-14-2008. I had a pre-hire from MceLroy right off the bat but had to wait through dec, & jan untill they lifted their hiring-freeze. JAN 26TH I was scheduled to go to oreintation, 1wk before the date my wife fell and broke her leg, could'nt leave her at home when it is just her & myself. MceLroy said they would consider a re-hire again but not now due to another hiring-freeze. My wife was out of work for 3mths, by the time she got back on her feet everything went south due to the economy. I work the same job that I have had for the last 20 some yrs as a shipping manager at this company in Old Fort,NC and am very fortunate to be making descent money. Like I said I have put several app's in for OTR companies, no luck, there are several local places like rock quarries, recyling companies etc, but everyone that I have talked to isn't hiring now and I understand that. I talk to the LTL company drivers that come in and they are alot of them that have had lay-offs and aren't hiring, not even on the docks. All I want to do is get in a truck and drive, thats it. The last thing I would do is take a job from someone that really needed it to feed his family, I just want to drive to get the exp. and if someone would give me the chance to drive in the evenings or the weekends because I work 1st shift I would drive for what ever they wanted to pay. I have had exp. backing & docking for 3yrs at my work place, I came out of driving school with a 99% grade average and had the lowest score on my road test that the instructor had ever scored, he swore up & down that I had driven before I came to school, all I had done was back & dock at work for 3yrs. I have been around trucks since I was little, my uncle got me hooked when I was 10yrs old by taking me on trips, when I smell the tires brakes and the diesel it does something to me. All I want to do is drive. I really don't see nothing wrong with that.

You didn't but many do . We've read the posts about WIA students with DUI's and multiple violations that have no chance at all of being hired . Yes , there are some good students but they are hard to find with their applications buried along with the thousands of others .
