I have a friend in Lakeland that pulls tanks for them on a 5 day overnight 12 hour shift. He services three customers in a triangle with two stops at each one a day. He's happy as can be. Here's what struck me as odd. He trained with Werner, drove for them for about 6 months and quit taking 3 months off. He found Comcar on Graigslist, called them, went and filled an app and was hired that day, pending the few days for HR to do the legal stuff. One, I am happy my good friend is happy as can be Two, I find this the complete opposite of most Floridians experience, as in those seeking work. I haven't paid much notice but maybe the hardest part is getting a CDL while living in Florida (easy) but getting some experience is the hard part.

ABCO Transportation, may have a few spots open in a few weeks. Must have Hazmat, either on License or pass the test and waiting for background/finger print clearance.

*sigh* Money money money... Time to go and take the test and see who I can brow from.

Its the luck of the draw. All depends if your experience and also if your at the right place at the right time. Also who you speak with as well. It took me 2-3 week to even get thru a recruiter at Swift to possess my application. I spoken with a different recruiter during that time, but they were not able to do anything unless she released me to him. So my statement above is correct.

Todays jobs in Jax area. WSE(Shaw) hiring newbies and experienced drivers. Gainey companies (Stupidserve, GTS, etc) hiring experienced only. This is for around the Jacksonville Florida area. Your mileage may vary !!!!!!

Well its monday morning, again. Checked all my sources, and jobs are drying up down here, especially for the noobies !! If you are working now, be best to hold on to that job for a while, even if it sux. It's going to be slow till after the first of the year, and most likely until spring. I'll post more good news, as it becomes available !!!
