I would hold off and see if you got any other responses. You dont need to just jump on the first thing that comes along. just my opinion.

Oh and congrats on the new cdl and your upcoming job Keep us posted and dont be afraid to ask anything

I'd probably jump at it for nothing else than to get my feet wet. This job market and the fact you are green are against you.

I worked for Werner for a year and half. They are not bad...I know others will say differently, but they hire drivers with no experience. You have to start somewhere. You have a benefit of living in Ohio. A lot of their freight is in that area of the country.

Congrats on the CDL, BigI! You will hear a lot of negative about Werner, but there are some positive stories here, too. I read them when considering Werner, too, but I know too many former Werner drivers. Maybe your experience will be quite different. You have to start somewhere at 21, so just be ready to suck it up for at least 6 months.

BTW, if you wanted to wait a little longer, please believe that you can. I was pre-hired with Werner back in April, and I just stopped getting messages in my voicemail this month, but I did get a postcard two weeks ago. I'd still encourage you to read a little more about Werner on this board to make a more informed decision. Chatting at truck stops won't hurt either. Good Luck!
