    Hey there,

Was wondering if there's anyone on the boards here that has gone through the CDL A class at York County School of Technology in York, PA? And if so, what are your opinions on the program?

It's the best school I could find within driving distance. There were a couple others within my radius, but this one seemed to stand out. For one thing, YCST is a decent tech school so that immediately got my attention. The CDL program is accredited by the state and certified by PTDI. They claim to use up to date equipment, have experienced and (some) award winning instructors, 132 classroom hours, 156 yard hours, and 20 hours on the road.

I'll come out with my CDL A, Defensive Driving cert., school certificate, a PTDI cert., cpr cert., and an OSHA forklift certification. The haz-mat, tanker, doubles, etc. is all optional.

I have no idea what their student/teacher ratio is for yard and road time or if they have "observation time". Other than that, it all sounded good to me, but I'd definitely be interested in hearing opinions from others that have gone there, if there's anyone on the forums that's gone through their program.

I have an interview with the head instructor this Thursday.

    Thanks,
    -JT

Well I guess nobody here has gone through this specific school's program. They seem to have a good reputation and they meet certain criteria that I was told to look out for.

I'm starting here next month and I'll be sure to come back here with my impression of their operation, just in case there's anyone else that's interested in attending.

JT.... Don't know if you have enrolled yet, but I could save you a bunch of time and money. I used to be an instructor there.

Shoot me a PM or an email at c_rudisill(at)hotmail.com
