Question and advise which would be the best to go to a cdl school

    I'm 41 years old and i'm fixen to start truck driving school I was just wondering which would be the best to go to a cdl school or a comunity college.I've already took my background check at the trucking school and passed it,but i'm having trouble getting the money to go there but at the college I can get grants and its a whole lots cheaper.Which one would I have a better chance at getting a job when I get out.Please help thanks.

    Just wanted to thank you for the feedback I was kinda leaning towards community college the recruiter I talked to at the trucking school seems to be leaving alot of info out that I could've really used.

    Community colleges are generally cheaper so that is good. I think you will still have to go out with a trainer before you get your own truck. Call a few companies and ask them.

    Go the community College route unless uncle sam is paying for it; therefore he dictates where you will go. Good luck my friend.

    Istart at sage in fort pierce monday march 15. it's a state college and work force paid for it. one on one driver training is better than 4 5 6 students in the truck. Remember you're paying to learn to drive not sit in the back and watch others. That's a BIG selling point to me.Wherever you go be safe and be serious. good luck
