Does anyone know of a good truck driving school in houston, with certified instructors, at least 6 weeks of training, uses a skid pad for training, actually get drive time in all kind of situations, like interstate, downtown, hills etc. My husband is wanting to get his CDL and had applied to a school that was 6 months for 10,000. I told him I thought that was way to expensive and too long. Any one with some recommendations on good training programs in the Houston area or even Shreveport, La. thanks for your recommendations

I plan on attending in March. Only a few months away but it seems like time is going by so slow. I have already talked to a rep. from the Dallas school. She has been very helpful and professional. I checked out a few schools here in my area of southern California but they all want sizable down payment from someone like me with a less than perfect credit score. TDI offered a low out of pocket at start up. So now while I take care of a few things here at home, Im really looking forward to March so I can get things rolling!

My baby brother went to school there and within 6 months he's a Driver Trainer and he's only 22. He loves it. I'm thinking really hard on getting my license. My husband is a trucker and he wants to team drive, so I think I'll give it a shot. I like to travel. Mostly I like to drive. I'm a lil nervous tho. I'm short and I'm wondering if I can reach the pedals. lol

This is my on input on truck driver Institute in Forsyth Georgia, if anyone who is looking for a truck driving school to to learn how to drive truck and to somewhat better than life. An to provide for their family, I would like to tell you my experience at truck driver Institute in Forsyth Georgia. When I was at truck driver Institute in Forsyth Georgia my experience was pretty decent and okay but the only thing that got me on my second week of attending truck driving Institute for people who are paying off the loan and is not going through WIA when you get to your second week they put you in a room by yourself and make you look at a loan video and as you are looking at this is loan video your loan is already $6,000 . But the trick is when you are paying on the loan if you have not pay off that loan off within nine months that $6,000 turns into $9,000 and that's pretty high for a person who is just now going to a school and you have to start paying off that loan within 60 days counting your first day of when you first started the school. To make you interested in the school they would tell you that their school doesn't required you to sign a contract with any company and that you are a free agent when you leave their school but at the end of the day if you were to go to a school and sign a contract you would still have to pay someone off at the end of the day and if you go to a school who makes you sign a contract you don't have to stay with that school for that particular time you can stay with them for at least 6 months then leave. My brother went to CR England I am Indiana his loan was only $4,000 compared to $6,000 a truck driver Institute in CR England truck driver Institute is the same amount Of time is a three week program. . For anyone who is looking to go to a school please please there are many other options out there just to get your training if you are getting your loan paid off by a program then truck driver Institute would be okay but I advise anyone who is taking out a loan and is paying in cash then that school is not for you. The trick part about the school is that what truck company that you know will pay off $6,000 in 9 months so that will lead your long to boost up to $9,000 when my brother live CR England he went to Warner it took them 2 years to pay off his $5,000 loan so how long do you think it will take to pay off a $9,000 loan please if anyone is thinking about going to a school this is my opinion and take it do not go to this school if you are taking out a loan if you are going through this school and you have WIA or some other government program that is paying off your long for you then the school is pretty OK but this school is definitely not worth $9,000 for 3 weeks

I have a lot to say about this school only thing I have to say about this school is warning do not attend this school there are better options.
I will begin by saying before attending truck driving school I worked at the airport with a pretty normal job so I came to the conclusion that I needed to provide for my family working for a fast food restaurant was it pays the bills so I had to sacrifice my job in quit so I did. So off I go to truck driver Institute with no money barely hanging on just a car in a little bit of hope so what got me about this school is you already have no money then when you attend truck driving Institute they want you to drive every single place and the locations are at least 10 miles a part not forgetting when you go to these places you have to drive all the way back to the school the school does not provide any type of transportation to its students so give you are a person with no money this is not the place for you.
I have read many people reviews on this forum and all seems to be ok what they never tell you that down about the school I am NOT trying to this guard anyone or talk about this school because of some personal feelings that I have about this school I am only telling you what I have experience and what a lot of people that I know who went to this school also said many people will not say anything because they graduated from the school so of course they will only tell you the good never the bad. The DMV that the truck Driver inches to go to is a nother Horror Story the people at the DMV do not know what they are doing they fail you on purpose so that you can come back and pay that $50 to retest because the DMV is already a small DMV with only 2 slots to take your picture in a total of like six seats that is the prettiest smallest DMV place I have ever seen in my life. Don't get me wrong there are pretty good people at truck driver Institute people like Brian and also Tim and runie the whole system at truck driver Institute is f***** up if you want to save some money and go to a truck driving school then please do. Go to this school I rather go to a six week school then a three week school that cost so much they tell you that your long is 5995 what they don't tell you with interest it will be close to $10,000 if you don't pay your loan off in 9 months they charge you interest I have there are so many things that I want to say about this school that I could not put in this form is ridiculous if you want my real opinion you contact me at blackcode1776@gmail

@Mileslongs12 several companies would have paid your tuition at that school if you had agreed to work for them afterward for 12 months.
Now, you can still make good money if you got all the endorsements in school. You should be in the $60K range right now with the endorsements.
