Yes, they are the best. I have Ghettro(metro) right now, and will dump them as soon as I start driving for real. Their version of "nationwide" is like 20% of the country.
Do you use your Verizon phone as a modem?
If yes, do you use the Verizon service, or some kind of app?
Verizon is very pricey, but you get what you pay for I suppose.

I have been using a cheap flip phone from day 1.
Smart phones are new to me.
Can you clue me in as to what phone you recommend and what plan you have?
All I really need is a phone that makes calls, and can be used as a hot spot.
I use the internet a LOT.
Verizons website just confuses me, as do their sales people.
They offer phones for free, and ones for $200-up.
They look exactly the same to me.

Ok first, you NEED a smart phone, doing ltl you will hate yourself if you dont have one, why...
While your hours get wasted loading, unloading, in the shop, broke down, parked at a customer for the night you'll have a way to entertain yourself so you dont sit there and get pissed.
2nd you NEED to be able to google earth your shippers and receivers, i've put my 4 ways on stopped in the suicide lane and google earthed the customer to see where i needed to go from where i was sitting, huge help.
I have a droid id recomend it or a I phone. (Personally i wont waste my money on a I phone)
I have 450min, unlimited text, and unlimited data on the phone. And a 5gb limit on the hotspot, all for $120/month (i get a 30% discount) so add that much to see what that would be.
Now you ARE going to use YOUR phone ALOT, calling customers and dispatch might as well get used to that thought now. This is a trucking thing not just a ws thing. So you might need more min for you. I call friends and family at night and on weekend s whens its free so i can use my min for work. Ws gets you a discount with verizon as well

I have not been on TR.com for the last two days.
Been trying to do stuff around the house and study when I get home.
By the time I eat dinner I am ready for bed. LOL

Class has been going well. I have the pre-trip and break check down and doing good at the ally dock.
I did city driving yesterday, missed too many gears and free wheeled way too much, but the instructor did not say much other than tips as he knew that I recognized my errors.

Yeah, we have been getting ‘lose it’, ‘find it’, ‘send it’, ‘tighty righty’ and ‘loosie lefty’. LOL
It has helped me remember and I can stick the box in one pull up just about every time now on the ally dock.

I got all of my endorsements Thursday and went to Lodi (TSA live scan) yesterday.
We will be down to two students starting Monday (including myself) until 10:30, then one more joins us for the remainder of the day.
I think at this point the two of us in the morning will get a lot of attention, good and bad. LMAO.

Haven't been on for a while due to my laptop refusing to connect up here in Montana, so I am using a borrowed computer for now. Week one with W/S was no joke. Quite the eye opener to put it mildly. The instructors are total pros and know what they are doing to say the very least. Seems like a great outfit to work for. I really am enjoying it so far.
