Hi all my name is Kyle, this is my first post to the foums. I would liketo first thank you all for having me aboard. I have come to the conclusion that I want to obtain my CDL I would like to be otr not just local, I am going to sign up for Johnson Community College in NC they have a 10 week training coarse. My question is does anyone on this forum have any experiance with Johnson CommunityCollege and theyre CDL training? I wuld like to obain a part time job while going to classes but the classes start at 7am and end at 6pm I still live with my parents (please dont flame me) I just need to be done with jobs and start on my career and this seems to be mycalling. any helpful tips for a nebie would be great and thank you in advanced Sincelry Kyle

Well if you wanna get paid while learning maybe you should try applying to a trucking company that offers their own schooling. I know central refrigeration training for cdls is two weeks then your on the road with a trainer driver for up to five weeks making 450 before taxes. And when your done with trainer you will work with them go a company truck driving solo.pay starts with them roughly around .28 cents a mile if I correct. But going to a school with your own dime might cost more then having a company pay most of it. Plus a better chance of already having a job after you grad.
