Hold a little pressure towards the direction your shifting (up or down). Get the RPMs around the area that the vibrations slow down on your shifter (as the pressure is applied). You will feel it slow way waaay down and pop! it just slipped into gear. Do that about a dozen times and you'll be on your way to floating the down shift.
disclaimer: I work for a double clutch company and that's our policy and that the way I do it. Above is for informational purposes only.

First, I suggest that you move your seat far enough back that you have to stretch to floor the clutch pedal.
    .
Now, at 1000 rpm, depress the clutch pedal half way and shift to neutral.
    Release the clutch.
.Blip the throttle to raise the rpm to slightly above 1300 rpm. As soon as the rpm starts to drop, depress the clutch pedal half way and shift to one gear lower. Release the clutch.
    .
It will take practice to not over rev or under rev the motor.

Double clutching is required on the cdl license test. All driving schools will teach you how to double clutch and drive properly enough for you to pass the test, thats their job. You just need to forget what you think you know and let them teach you so you can pass. Float the gears later when your in your own truck. This is how you will get through the training, cdl license test and then company training. After that, find out what works best for you.
