Subscribing. Interested in learning about schools for myself, a rookie with no training.

I use to live in Vallejo. I remember seeing Falcon around way back in the mid 80's. So they have staying power for sure. And I looked at their website a little. Looks like they do some of their training on Mare Island so I bet they have plenty of room.

And their references look good to me (verify of course).
    -------------------
Falcon Truck School has performed training for Lockheed Space Corporation, Pacific Gas & Electric, Pacific Bell, Exxon, Valero Refining Company, Dow Chemical Corporation, American Linen Supply Company (ALSCO), The Presidio Trust, California Department of Fish and Game, City of Concord, City of Alameda, Contra Costa County, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Mare Island, in addition to thousands of the most well trained and knowledgeable graduates for over 25 years.
    --------------

I didn't really see anything about placement assistance. So if you need that you might want to ask... But you will probably get better placement assistance here on ttr then from any school anyway.

Yes, the cost is normally $4,100.00, however, during the month of November 2011 they are offering a 29th Anniversary special tuition price of $3,000.00. Which is the lowest price I`ve seen so far...
Contact Suzanne M. Seymour (707-643-1700), she`s very nice.
I just hope someone would have some feedback to give us about this school...

This thread is about Falcon Truck School in Vallejo, what is your school in LA as to do with it??? Do you offer lodging, cause I don't see myself doing SF - LA twice every day! Lmao :))

Ok, Falcon Truck School LLC in Vallejo, CA, responded back to me. Please tell me what you think, so far it`s the best price I found and it`s not far from where I live... (keep in mind they offer during the month of November 2011 a 29th Anniversary special tuition price of $3,000.00!!)

    Hi!
Here are the responses to your email:

Me: Does that special rate works if I pay this month and take the class in January, or do I have to take the class when I pay?
    Them: Yes it does.

Me: Also, what year are your trucks as on the website they seems pretty old...
    Them: 1997 and 2001

Me: When you say, you limit your classes sizes, how many students is it at a time?
Them: We average 7-8 students in a class

Me:You Wrote you have job placement rates, do recruiters come to the school and do you have a job right after you've completed the classes?
Them:Sometimes recruiters come to the school and we also have you fill out applications with some companies to see if we can get you a "pre-hire letter" that means that a company will hire you after you complete our course.

Me: My concern is about your equipment, as your trucks seems to be "flat cabin", and I don't want to be trained on these, do you have other kinds or not?
Them: We have both cabover engine (what you are referring to) and conventional tractors. We train in both so that you are exposed to both types of trucks. When you graduate and go work for a company you don't always know what type of equipment they have in their fleet. This way you will be prepared. That is also why we teach you two different types of transmissions. There are 9, 10, 13, 15 and 18 speeds out there and you never know which you will encounter. 9 and 10 speeds are most common so you will be well prepared.

    What do you think?

    grnburg Thanks this.
