I have let this thread drift off course, sorry guys. Ill try to bring it back to the school only. I will list the questions that I know I had when coming here. I can answer more.

    1. How do people from other States get their CDL here in Burns Harbor Indiana?

A: If your from any State other than Illinois, you surrender your class C license and study/test to get an Indiana class C license. Then you get an Indiana CDL, then your responsible for transferring it back to your home State later.

A: If your from Illinois, you get segregated. Right after the permit testing, your sent to a different area in the yard to train, because the Illinois CDL test is totally different. (Thanks former Gov Ryan). They take you to South Holland Illinois to permit test and to CDL test. You stay Illinois all the way. (Il CDL test is flippin tough)

    2. I hear there is more than 1 motel.

A: The travel inn is the first one, most everyone stays in that one while permit testing. Later in the course you move to the Hometown. They are both dives, don't worry :biggrin_2559: and yes there are bed bugs in some rooms, this seemed to be a hit and miss problem.

Q: How much is Englands course?

A: I came here expecting to pay $2995, but since I came on Thanksgiving it was only $995. They let me know that after I arrived :biggrin_2556:

Q: Is there places to eat around there?

A: Travel Inn theres a gas station run by some Indian, and a Dennys, both are walking distance. Thats about it.

A: Hometown Lodge: The Best Western down the street has a small rester aunt, there is a shuttle that takes you into town every 15 minutes (after 5:00 PM) where there are places to eat and shop. There is nothing within walking distance. Some Mexican comes to the motel now and then selling tamales. Coffee taste like motor oil but its free. Theres a strip club next door, go into it and be fired.

I never saw this nor did I hear anyone else who took this offer, but I know I would have had it been available in November. CRE is a good enough starter company for anyone to get their 6 months needed under their belt then move on. 3 months of it is training anyway.

Thanks for the helpful post, if you can show a link even better. Too late for me but perhaps not for others

Call 1-888-537-2995 And ask them about the offer.
FREE TRAINING if you sign up for jan. classes w/ 6 mo. agreement

I could copy and paste it, But not sure its ok to do so on here.

If anyone tries it let us know about the fine print

  6. This sounds a lot like the way crst works. The hardest part was easliy having to study for and pass the permit test in two days. Luckily for me I had my gf and dog staying with me at another motel so my study environment was relaxed. I saw about 15 people drop out just in that first week. These cdl mills will definately test your strength, both physically and mentally, but if you can see it through to the end, you've probably got what it takes to be.a driver

Yes I left out of my posts that I had to pay about $150 total out of pocket expenses as well, for the admin fee, permit, etc. and physical.

I truly believe the reason CRE charges extra for these is because so many fail and bail, not paying back anything.

Then when I got to the DMV I had to fork over an extra $20 to keep my class M, and I remember all I had that day was $21 to eat on, I was sore :biggrin_25516: they left us there for 8 hours before the CRE shuttle showed back up

You had to spend $20 of the $21 you had ? That didn't even leave you enough for Vaseline . :biggrin_25512:

Vaseline for what? I just got a $5000 CDL for $995.

That would buy an awful lot of banjo strings down in Kentucky :biggrin_2559:

The fun has only begun . Keep us posted with your CRE adventure . We'll see how good of an investment that $995 was .
