Well I just arrived and checked into the hotel Rodeway Inn. It's not 5 star but it's on par with Motel 6 so not too bad. Yeah I know a bunch of a people have posted there experiences so I am going to post mines as well. I've met a few people so far who are in the program. I will try to update as much as possible as I go along. So far I have met people from New York and B More, MD...so pretty far spread. Stay tuned for an update.

    flguy and Lonesome Thank this.

Thanks! I think C1 might be my backup plan if going directly with Swift doesn't work out.

Today was pretty smooth sailing but stressful due to the physicals we started with a class of 23 and ended up with 18. The school director addressed the class first thing in the day and he seems to be a pretty cool guy. He was once in the Navy and I like people who have been in the military because they play no games or take no bull crap. He explained the school and policies and also procedures to the school, he even told of his OTR experience. A ton of paperwork will be done on the first day and you will soon sign your life away.

The Director also said that whoever starts at C1 Fort Wayne will have to pass the pretrip test before driving a truck.
This a good policy to me and will help me and all other students become familiar with the pre trip function.
The director also emphasized SAFETY and talked about an accident that happened at the C1 Indy campus when a student did not make 3 points of contact getting out of the tractor, so he said if you do not do 3 points you will have to do 3 points of contact over ten (10) times until it is drilled in.

Physicals came next and this was very stressful. We waited and waited and waited. They do simple but through physicals.

They are cracking down on weight, they will check your neck measurement and BMI (Body Mass Index). If your BMI is over 35 and neck size is over 17 they will disqualify from driving. So your best bet is to start cutting back on your bad eating habits. I barely made it. BMI was 34 and Neck 17. Also High Blood Pressure will disqualify you. BP has to be under 140.

Yeap so today was pretty good and we reviewed the Indiana Operators Test.

Will Keep you posted on Day Two, now me and the roomie are headed to the store. Update you soon.

Are you going to get to drive one on one?
Or are they going to have three? students per truck? How much time and miles will you be getting for the course?

Also if you have a day off, only walk the way of new haven. Do not walk down to Flort Wayne. Bad area, New haven has a few places to eat about three? miles away from where you are.
Nice area,, keeps you away from everything,,,, no way to get in trucble,,,,,

Hello Mountain Mafia.. Im looking into this industry. Fort Wayne PAM will probably be my destination, however, I get interested when I read of people finding better $$ offers. I for one would greatly appreciate it if you could elaborate on the opportunity of $.38 per mile, what company etc. Thank you kindly!

Today was stressful to say the least, it was information overload as we were preparing for our CDL permit test on tomorrow AM. We stayed over until 5 pm. Nothing interesting to report today just overloaded and tonight I am going to get a good nights rest. Stay tuned...Oh btw Swift emailed me today to do some follow up with my CDL application. Every time I go into a new opportunity others always come up.

As far as Swift goes... we have a few really, REALLY good Swift folks on the forums. I've been talking with Injun and TruckerDragon for the past week or so, and they're pretty awesome. I suggest reading thru TruckerDragon's training thread if you get time.
