I have been attending this school for 7 weeks now,and hope to Graduate this Friday 2/24/2012. As long as I finish well on the remaining written tests, and the last two practical driving exercises. The forward exercise, and coupling exercise I'll graduate.
All I can say is this school is TOP NOTCH!!! The instructors are the best!
The trucks are all well maintained and when you leave this school you know what you are doing in a tractor.
My research revealed this school to be the number one school in the U.S. As well as the oldest truck driving school in the U.S.. It was started in 1949 and rocks!
    You just can't do better!
The tuition for NC residents is just under 1000.00 ,and around 3500.00 give or take for out of state students. But take my word for it, well worth every penny. I believe there are discounts for ex military,Vets, and also retired Srs that are medically qualified.
There are recruiters that come to the school almost every week over the eight week daytime course, and the twelve week night time course.
The class rooms are real class rooms with desks and ac or heat. there is a lounge for the students, and a cafeteria as well. Also there is a library where you can use the computers if needed for applications, and you can have a student ID made and get discounts at participating hotels, and eateries.
Did I mention the staff? Again,TOP NOTCH!! I simply can't say enough good about the instructors and this school, crazy cool. They in my eyes have lived up to the hype, and the reputation they have and what I had heard before I started my class here. The trucking companies nation wide know of this school and getting a GOOD A-list job after leaving is pretty much sure thing. You just have to complete the course, and get your certificate!
    Yep you will be certified!
No bones about it they set the bar a little higher here and it is TOUGH! Both physically and mentally.
But when you finish you will be among the elite of the rookie drivers on the road!
Just tell em Johnny AKA Pumpkin King sent ya!!The guy that HAD an attitude problem:banghead: when he started.(They adjusted that too,and I thank them, especially Mr Andy, and Mr Sherman for that!)
Again,I have four class days left and a test of some sort every day. If I pass, and complete the course(praying hard, please, please, please)I have a job waiting at the place I wanted to work for before ever started school.
Yep,my app has been approved as long as I get the certificate in my hands!
Even if by some crazy happenings I don't finish,I will, and would HIGHLY recommend this school to anyone. In fact we have one student from California. If you want to be among the best rookies,go to the best school!

I graduated there over 3 years ago and still stop by to visit the instructors when I get a chance. Great training.

I graduated in 2008. It is a great school. I didn't appreciate how much I learned there until I got out and had the chance to see what others didn't learn at their schools. Yeah, Mr Andy and Mr Sherman will get you straight. You'll do well. Choose your first company carefully.

    Well,
Graduation is in two days and the coolest thing so far is solo driving without an instructor. We actually get to pair up and take out the trucks in teams. That is what qualifying is all about. The driving time we get solo driving is as much as you want it to be once you make it past qualifying. This is one of the only Truck driving schools that does this. At this point I would have to blow it pretty bad to not graduate, and again thanks to the recruiters coming to the school regularly. I have a job waiting. we had two recruiters come today, and one yesterday. They seem to flock here looking for the students that graduate from here.
Again,I can't say enough positive about this school. You will absolutely love it. But you do have to make the grade, and pass!

I have passed the course, and ship out Saturday March 3rd to Orientation.
Thanks NC Truck Driver Training School!
Do the research this school is well worth the time it takes and lots of companies are ready to hire you straight out of school!
Again, you have to earn your way through this school. They don't just show you how to drive a Tractor they teach you how to do it safely!
I can't say enough good about this school. The toughest 8 weeks I have ever known, and well worth it. I imagine the next 8 weeks are gonna be equally as tough with my trainer!

    Congratulations on finishing the course.

I graduated back in August of last year. I was in Smithfield today making some pickups(LTL). I drove down several of the streets of the school's qualifying routes, making those same turns I was making in school just 6 months ago. It seems like its been much longer than 6 months since I was wheelin' that old Freightliner down Brightleaf Blvd. Attending the NCTDTS was easily one of the best things I've ever done.

We had Graduation today. It was really cool, and I did much better than I thought ranking 5th in the class of original 28,and 18 that finished! I was thinking I finished about 10th. Hope to start work in a week. Yep that fast! If you go to this school and don't have a job waiting at a good company it's because you just don't wanna work! As the instructors said,"Don't wait too long or you will have to go back to school again". Companies don't want you to be away from the driving gig for more than 30 to 60 days, and the time span is shrinking to 30 days. So don't wait too long to get a job. If you go here you can get a job pretty fast, and if you have a clean criminal background with just about who ever you want! Again I highly recommend this school!
