I originally was going to go with central refrigerated but ended up having a problem with the recruiter constantly losing my paper work which was a negative for me. I am not looking for another training school that is sponsored by a company since I do not have enough money to put myself through school. I was considering either going to Squire or FFE training but I do not know much about either except the little information I have found on the internet. Anyone out there with any info on either? All your responses are much appreciated.
Squire or FFE?

Sick of Manual Labor jobs.
Best of luck to you! -
Yeah I checked out central refrigerated but their recruiters were leaving out a lot of information and seemed in a rush to get me in when I told them I wanted to check out all companies. I think I have narrowed it down to either FFE, Squire, or Roehl. I need a company that will be good for a newbie like me and will help me out getting my cdl. I wish you the best of luck and let me know which one you end up going with. -
I think one of the hardest parts is just the deciding factor as to which one to pick. I like that FFE does not take any deductions out of your pay. Plus I have tried to weed out the comments of others that are angry with them for reasons beyond anyones control. Each school has its pros and cons but I do not plan on leaving till September so I still have some time to decide.

I'll let you know what I decide. My work history though is pretty ####. I have only worked two jobs so far. One being at the Kroger Distribution Center in Salem, VA. They expected us to leave after about 3-4 weeks from starting the job. haha. I lasted 3 weeks. Better then most, we had 31 people in the class and I was the 3rd one left after the third week. After that I got a job at Walmart for 8 months which was decent, but that is all the work history I have. Another thing is I never graduated high school. Too much drama and just some personal reasons. Started getting my GED and passed everything except for one subject which I have to re take in the future because I'm too broke to get there and take it as I moved last year. My folks are struggling with bills at moment. Hopefully Ill be lucky enough to even get on with a company as it is. Still got my Virginia's drivers license and I'm unsure rather I should change it to NC or just change my mailing address to my grandmothers house in Martinsville,VA. Gotta ask the companies about that. Got a clean driving record, criminal wise I only got a Class 4 Misdemeanor from intoxication in public. That is a long story, but that is what women will do to you these days. The court messed up a lot of things, but I honestly should have been innocent because I wasn't drinking, Never got my rights read to me not that we have any, and I offered to do the breathalyzer which the 22 year old female cop didn't let me do. It is always their word against yours and I never had any chargers on me what so ever, you believe that. The Common Wealth of VA is so corrupt, I swear.
Anyway, hopefully that won't affect a company from taking me on. Intoxication in public is ehh, luckily they didn't charge me with the class 1 misdemeanor of possession for it, but I never even had any alchy on me so. :/ Other then a crappy work history, the class 4 misdemeanor, and no HSD/GED I only pray I can get FFE or some one to take me on for company training and hire me. I lost my apartment, don't have any friends close by, and girl friend or any of the bull #### that follows. So I will be running as much as I can. I'm still living with the folks also so its not like I have any bills to pay and I can always help them out as needed.
Again, enough ranting. HAHA! I turn 21 October 9th this year so I am trying to figure out if I could actually start the training before my birthday, because at FFE it is like an 18 day thing and I could turn 21 on the last day of training so when I head out with the trainer Ill be legal to drive from state to state. If we choose the same company it would be pretty sweet to do this together. Would be nice to train with some one that won't be pissing about and not studying or practicing. An doing the training and going out with a trainer on my birthday might even show them I'm ready and have the motivation to start this career. I really hate manual labor jobs and what is extremely bad is I live in a larger city, but I absolutely can't find a crappy job any where to save my life and transportation is pretty limited.
In the mean time its reading more reviews, practice test, and uhhhh.... Feels like I'm forgetting some thing......
P.S.
I see you live in FL. I hope you live pretty close to a terminal. You may want to ask each company about that because I heard its hard to get on with most companies if you live down there. -
Wow, seems like you have had a heck of a time. If I was in your shoes I would try and get the GED done as soon as possible. I know one main thing I have been asked by different company recruiters is about felonies or misdemeanors and if you had them they wanted to know how far back it went. So that would be another thing I would check into before hand just so that you are prepared and not surprised.
For me at least it is a little different since I am 21 now but I also have a wife and a daughter that will be at home while I'm driving so I do it for them. I just hope I find a decent company that will let me get my experience and then move on to another company that is better. I am sure they all have their problems but what job doesn't. -
Also a quick question. Think I should go ahead and apply for some companies even though my Birthday is not until October or what would you recommend?
