    Oklahoma schools

Hi guys. My brother in law is wanting to get his CDL and start driving. I am doing some research on the internet but thought I would ask here as well. Are there any places in Oklahoma that can help him get his license. I went through CDL training at the Caddo Kiowa tech center in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to get mine. After I had already paid though, one of the other students told me there was a program you could go through where they would pay for every bit of the training, you just had to show where you had worked for a farmer in Oklahoma. However, when I inquired about this to the school, I was told what the program was but that was it, no other information nothing to go on. Almost like they didn't want people to go that route. Before I enrolled at that school, I spoke with a rep from USA truck. He told me that due to laws in Oklahoma, companies like USA truck, USExpress and others that trained you in return for working for them, were banned from opening up training centers here. I thought coming here I could get some sound advice as well and not have to do as much filtering through the garbage ads I get when I search on google.

there is a school at the community college in el reno i think... just right outside okc. call the unemployment office and ask them about the WIA "workforce oklahoma." they may pay all of the training if he qualifies. hope that helps. other than that, there is a trucking school in tulsa... and it is through driver solutions.... and it is expensive.

The trucking school in Tulsa is Roadmaster. There is a community college program out of Drumright, Central Tech, I think.

roadmaster is not affiliated with central tech in drumright. I am a recent graduate of central tech and put a post called Trucking schools for student drivers. this post tells about my experience at central tech. i will say this, central tech is cheaper then roadmaster by a substantial amount and i previewed roadmasters training program and i was not impressed. that and you will have to do the road test in Tulsa and i will tell you the route is extreme, good experience but very difficult for a student driver. my class at central tech had to test in tulsa due to construction but every other class does their road test in drumright. that and you do the backing for you skills portion in the lanes you practice in on campus. which is awsome compared to the gravl parking lot in tulsa.
