Just finishing up classes here and I am headed to Tyson for orientation.
I wanted to give Instructor Kelli Miller and the entire school credit for running and excellent operation. It is completely practical as a school, and I felt like teaching is aimed at driving a Big Rig, not just passing a CDL test. The School has about a dozen trucks, with every form of current transmission and engine package. The hardest part was remembering which transmission I was using because we drive at least 2 different trans per day. This is not an easy school. If you struggle to read or have learning disabilities check it out fully.--- 5 weeks-- about 3500 dollars with food and lodging.
previously I have been a cop for 14 years and i have a B.S. degree

I agree with you, Kelli is awesome!!...I went there in 2010, but had Darrin has my instructor because I was the first student to ever do the online course. I would do the class at home (in Carthage) and then go have one-on-one all day with Darrin. Sometimes I would sit in with the other instructors when Darrin was busy (this was before he was the "Dean". Kelli was the one who did my test.

Graduated last thursday from Crowder, 3days of orientation at tyson and hitting the road in the morning. Easy Peasy the most streamlined recruitment and hiring process i could imagine. by the way tyson needs about 6 drivers per week. 39cents/mi after 8 weeks.

Hey mcv how u like at at tyson they give u hard time?? They keep you busy?
-
Also Once you aplied for them how soon did they get in contact with you??
-
That sounds alot better than what i signed up for (driver solutions) pam. 17.5 cents per mile and a one year contract. Are there any programs to help me pay for crowder.

Question for those that have been to Crowder. Is a vehicle needed while you are there? Or is there local transportation to get around to the stores and such?
-
As far as i know they feed you 3 times a day there so you dont need to go to no stores unless u wanna go to a strip club... Jus kidding
