Sage Truck Driving Schools

Hi everybody,

I have been searching the internet to find a good school near me. The school I have found is Sage Truck Driving School in Evansville, IN. They are a PTDI accredited school and I haven’t seen any information on the posts about them. I am just concerned about being trained properly before signing with a company. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Numerous people reccomended Sage to me. Alas, there is none close to me, and I'm probably going to go with Scheider if they will take me.

I attended Sage and I thought they were pretty good. Lots of one on one in the truck. Good instructors. They could have concentrated a little more on mountain driving in my opinion, especially since I went thru the course here in Montana (lots of mountain grades!)

SAGE is a good school, better than average. As someone else posted, you will not have any other students in the truck with you, so your driving time is YOUR driving time.

Knowing what I know now though, I wouldn't go to SAGE unless I could get a minimum of 6 weeks off from work. Driving at night is a real pain in the butt. Maybe it's just the trucks at our particular location, but the headlights seem to be OFF when they are on. I can't see a darn thing driving the trucks at night, and I know it's not me. I drive the same roads with my car (or my wife's car) at night, and I can see just fine.

You can choose to drive just on weekends (during daylight hours), but then you forget a lot during the week. But if you work days, then you can only drive at night during the week, and that is not good.

They want you go do a couple of drives at night anyway, but try to minimize your night drives. Get time off work to go to SAGE, if at all possible. -Dave
