1 week down

ok 1 week down. I have no problem with the straight line backing or right hand turns on the range. The 90 degree docking is a whole nother story. Just cant seem to get the setup right. More often than not I am off by just a little but enough to go out. Others I hit perfect. Oh well it can only get better. I was in the shift truck today and the double clutching wasnt all that bad. Got the hang of it real quick. Monday morning is my written tests and then go from there.

Thanks to all who have answered my questions and have posted elsewhere. All I have read on here has definetely helped me out. I will let you know as I go along as much as I can.

I am from Galien. Pretty much on the southwestern tip of the state. I am going to PDI (proffesional drivers institute) out of New Buffalo, MI. I am either going to work for SMX or Boyd Bros. What about you Central?

I'm from lansing. I almost went to PDI but I didn't want to spend 3 weeks on the snow belt. I am going to ABC training and testing out of jackson. At least I can commute everyday to school that way. I still am not sure who to go to work for. I liked modular trans out of wyoming and applied but their recruiter doesn't hasn't returned phone calls lately. It would be nice to be off week-ends during training and just run regional. Got approved today for CFI but I don't cherish the thought of a 20 some hour greyhoung ride to joplin

try calling them back when you get close to graduating. I havent heard anything from modular either but I am not worried about it. You should have done PDI. Good training and instructors. Only been in a week and have done everything but raod training which I start next thursday. But good luck to ya and keep me posted if you hear anything from Modular. Check out Boyd Bros. Not sure if being in Lansing gets you home every weekend but call them and ask.

Ya , I am kind of skeptical about ABC. I guess we'll have to see. My Mich. works re-hab lady wanted to send me somewhere closer to home so I didn't have all the extra expenses to stay in New Buffalo and then come home on week-ends. I will be in the first group at ABC for the advance class so I'll see how it goes. Its a 160 hour program ; but how they get that from going from 7:30 to 3:30 M-F for 3 weeks is beyond me.I already have a class "B" so I am just upgrading my license to a class "A " rookie status.

I know that both of my classmates are from Jackson. They stay in the hotel and then went home for the weekend. Not sure what all is involved. Well good luck to ya.
