Company paid training in Texas for felons?

I live in Texas (about 80 miles outside Dallas), I've looked high and low for companies that provide training for new drivers that have felonies. Most companies have told me my felony has to be at least 10 years ago but for me it's 5. Only place I've found that will give me what I'm looking for (guaranteed job, very little up front cost) is C1 - Fort Worth. I haven't committed to go to the school yet as they won't take me until I have my birth certificate which has been paid for and ordered but they already have me slated as a driver for PAM (which I've heard some good and bad things about). It seems that there are alot of better options out there but my big problem is finding a company that will take a new inexperienced driver with a felony as recent as mine. I hear the pay at PAM is not good either I've heard people talking about getting paychecks for around $100. I'm not looking for more negative feedback on C1 or PAM but to rather know what my other options are (if any) given my situation.

Felony for? What the felony was for can make a difference.

It was for wire fraud. I had a 33 month sentence and have been released from probation after 3 years clear conduct.

I would say if Pam gives you a chance go for it. You are going to have a hard time with most companies due to a felony fraud conviction. Companies have to be able to trust their drivers. C1 is supposed to be a pretty good school. I've never really heard anything about the Dallas C1 one way or the other.

Yeah it seems the C1 here is pretty good. I've heard alot of bad things about the locations in other places, I hear the one in Fort Wayne in particular is horrible but rave reviews for this one.

Felon or not "company paid " schools should be avoided . In the majority of cases the driver doesn't meet the employment requirement and ends up being billed thousands for the schooling .
Have you considered getting your own truck for hotshot work ?

I havent heard much about PAM but just remember, they are a training company. Expect low pay.

I went through Stevens school then made it solo for awhile. Honestly I couldnt survive on the pay checks so I started looking for something else. I left Stevens after 8 months and am hauling cars now. I love it and making good money.

What Im trying to say is bear with the training company for awhile then move on. Some places will take a driver with 6 months experience.

I live about 3 minutes away from the C-1 in Ft. Worth. I see them fueling at the Circle K. Trucks look like junk but hey, all you need is something that will run right now.

    Good luck.

Stevens Transport is one company I looked into but I think like most they wanted the felony to be 10 years old.

Can't afford my own truck, right now I'm scraping by on unemployment and food stamps and I can't seem to hook up with a job that pays more than minimum wage which would hinder being able to buy a truck.
