I'm new to the trucking scene and I wanted to get some input from anyone that has some knowledge. I'm in the process of picking a trucking school to attend and I'm trying to get as much information as I can before I commit to one. For reasons that will take too long to explain, these are the only schools I can attend. Anyone who has an opinion about any of these schools, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Look at what companies you are wanting to work for and than make sure that they will hire someone from that school first. If the school is PTDI certified than you are probably safe, but it still wouldn't hurt to contact a recruiter first if in doubt.
LilRedRidingHood Thanks this. -
I went DRM training. He only has 3-4 students at a time. The cost is reasonable @$3000. You are backing as a group but all your drive time is 1 on 1 time.

im curious, there are companies that train, why arent you going that route?

Hello tacomaruss, how did you like DRM? Are you driving now? I'm wondering if companies view DRM as an approved school as there is not very much info on this school but I like you like the fact that the class sizes are small. Thanks.

Anyone have experience with or know anything about Western Pacific Truck School in Portland or Longview, WA?
LilRedRidingHood Thanks this. -

As has been mentioned, select the company(s) you want to work for and find out if they have preferred schools. Research those schools and get rolling. Also, the school should have a minimum 160 hours in the course, preferably... 200 hours.
Good luck driver! -
