Alliance Truck School

Are there any grads from Alliance Tractor Trailer Training Center, either Wytheville, Va. or N.C.? I'm currently in my 3rd weekend (part time) just wanting to know how it was to others?

I didn't go to Alliance (Wythville) but I am driving with two guys who did.

From what they have told me in comparison with the school I went to they learned a whole lot more than I did.

I kinda wished I had gone to Alliance, but I just didn't have the cash. I paid $2500 for mine and they each paid somewhere around $6000. you get what you pay for I guess.

Good luck,

Dave

I recently switched to full time, got another week or so left. So far, I'm doing good, the instructors are very helpful, but they like to tease ya a little, but it's all in good fun. I feel like I paid a bit much though, payed 5500, but I hear that's the norm for private schools. What I don't like is that we're learning our backing maneuvers on an unpaved surface, with potholes everywhere, but that may help us later when we actually have to put up with that.

I earned my CDL yesterday. Alliance has taught me alot, but I feel like I paid too much for it. There's still some things I wanted to learn, but I suppose they can't teach it all in one month. What really matters to me now is that I have enough skill to operate a truck safely and I have learned more that what was required for my CDL.

Thanks. Now comes the search for a place to work. My driving record concerns me a little and I've been turned down by a couple of companies because of it. I hope there are other companies that are less picky about 3 speeding tickets within 4 years.
