This has got to be the worst school in the entire state of Oregon. Do yourself a favor go to IITR my friend went to ETS and I went to IITR we compared the two and IITR was by far the better of the two. My friend is a lady a little rough around the edges maybe but a lady. She said the bathrooms were disgusting comparing them to a green outhouse you may find on a construction site. Also the teachers there between the three of them have less than ten years of experience. That really made her feel that she totally blew her hard earned money. She even said that when she did get a job the recruiter mentioned that he would never reccomend that school to anyone he cared about. Times are tough and money is scarce. If you dont wanna get ripped off by a bunch of false advertising STAY FAR,FAR AWAY FROM ELITE TRCK DRIVING SCHOOL IN HILLSBORRO OREGON.

While I agree that IITR is a good choice, at least it was for me in 89, your post is a little short on details about why ETS is so bad. Did she happen to learn anything while she was there?

she passed, thats the only good thing she had to say. she found the equipment was not well kept up and felt as though she should not have passed the driving test. Still very unsure of herself as far as beign a safe driver. Also that the owners of the school are rude only after getting her signed up and receiving the money. She actually really liked the teachers but felt that they were not qualified to do what they are payed to do.

I find it somewhat humorous and scary at the same time when people post things like this. You went to a school you liked, your friend went to a school she didn't like. You didn't go to the school she went to, so why are you warning people about it? The only experience you have is from her experience, not your own. If you have no first hand experience, you have no way of actually knowing if this is the worst school in the state of Oregon as you stated. No I have not been to either of the schools you spoke of, but if you look through the posts on here there are equal amounts of people that prefer elite over IITR as preferred IITR over Elite. Just be careful with these types of post, because a few months from know she might have a bad experience at a trucking company and you'll be posting they are the worst company to work for and possibly burn a bridge for yourself in the future. Again it makes me wonder about society focus on the negative when they are so quick to bash one, yet I haven't seen you post a positive post on your experience with IITR.

As a followup to my previous reply. Granted the 10 years combined experience if true is scary, but it looks to me as if they did their job. She got her CDL and from your post a job. That is all the school is there for to get your CDL and as a result of the CDL get a job. Doesn't look like she threw her money away to me. As for the bathrooms; while cleanliness is important, has she ever been to a truckstop? A rest area? A small terminal? The bathrooms she described to you, don't sound that much different. Are they disgusting? Absolutely! But that is life on the road. As you can see from my status, I am a wannabe. No, I do not have a CDL, no I have not been to a CDL school. However, my dad has been a trucker for over 40 years, so I have a pretty good idea of what it is like out on the road.

Between what I've learned from my dad's experience, this forum and real life is that attitude is everything! There are way too many people (not just truckers) in this world that focus on the negative rather than on the positive. Are you the type that focuses on what goes wrong? Or are you the type that when something goes wrong analyze the situation and determine if there was even one thing you could have done differently and learn from it? Just my thoughts.

you know what I must agree that I have heard more positive than negative about that school. It really wasnt her hard earned money but was mine. So maybe I didnt give it much thought before I vented. You sound like a very level headed person. I think you could make yourself more useful and more money as a lawyer or a phyciatrist. LOL, are you sure your a wannabe? thanks and good luck..

That's part of my job :) I work with kids with behavioral issues at a middle school and am a therapeutic foster parent for older teen boys. Around people 24/7/365 I'm ready for some isolation :)
