The end of my first week of class... I didnt want it to end, though it was super cold n windy here in Michigan class started off GREAT for me... Went into class a little ticked off, not about training, but about the people i've spoke with. Experienced drivers, over the past several weeks have said nothing good about trucking... I started second guessing my new career! By the end of my first day I understood those people I talked to just werent cut out to be the person I dreamed of being since I was 7... I should have never second guessed my own dream, but sometimes we let others influence us and that can hold u back... No matter what I was told or what i've herd I took the first step, come hell or high waters I was going to live my dream.

A bit nervous for class, I didnt sleep much the night before was worried I wouldnt wake up in time, watchin that clock. Time came there I was in class with the instructor and a room full of guys... I didnt feel out of place, I sure was not treated differently... I've worked construction for 16 yrs and never worked with another woman in the field so I was good with it. Kinda like it that way. I can get along with any guy in the world, put me in a room full of cackalin ladies n I will b the first to leave unless there talkin bout huntin fishin or ridin horses lol.

The instructor welcomed every one, the other students in class are great and seems as though everybody is there helping each other along the way. Any one who had questiones the instructor had an answer, input was given on all sorts of topics. Along with having a great instructor he has been my first mentor. I have driven before, I have picked up a few bad habits, since being in training I have felt confident and appreciate knowing the propper way things should be done for the care of the truck and the safety of others as well as myself.

We pair off into 2 groups after lunch, we have another great instructor who comes in and helps out. We have been in trucks since the first day... We've been doing manuvers, shifting, drop n hooks and practicing our pre-trips. As long as you listen and have patients you will learn, you will walk away from training with that CDL and know how to control your truck. If a sudent is struglin they take the time to help them out.

I would encourage anybody out there interseted in trucking to look up TRAINCO and head there way! <3 truckin n Sweet Dreams

When a trucker, especially an experienced one, constantly badmouthing the career, ask them, "If it's so bad, why are you still doing it?" You will hear every excuse under the rainbow, including, "I had a chance for a dream job, but turned it down which was a big mistake." Soon they are trying to recruit you to work for the company they work for.

Sounds like it might be different then when I went through LCC's a few years ago...Wonder if they have some of the instructors/trucks after they folded that program. A few years ago, their (Traincos) trucks were bad...Like a mid 80s international and an even older freightliner...Glad it sounds like they are getting better...
