The one thing about trucking that gets overlooked the most -more than anything is that trucking is a PEOPLE business -IMO.

Good luck getting a job after graduation at the bar next door.

Too many courses today are more "crash" than "course".

You maybe able to get your license in one day but good luck getting a job! Most companies insurance require you complete a minimum amount of training hours at an accredited school. Off the top of my head I believe its around 160-165 hours.
If you are serious about becoming a professional driver and want to get into the industry it will only behoove you to do it the right way the first time. This will save you lots of time and money. Shortcuts and/or trying to save a dime are very rarely a good thing or work out for the best in the real world.Rick_C and WV_Daddys_Girl Thank this. -
Have anyone work or went to Raider Express Trucking Comp. in Fort Worth for truck driving Training. If so, can anyone tell me about these people and do they pay well. I'm trying to do truck driving either go to school for it or work for a company that will pay for it.

It might be good for say, someone who has experience, got out, and wants back in. Or someone who might have experience in an exempt vehicle type (e.g., farm trucks) but wants to upgrade to an actual CDL. Or maybe someone like a municipal worker or dump truck driver who knows already how to back a trailer, but needs to upgrade to an A in order to tow a tag behind their truck.
So I won't dismiss the school completely. -

Ther16- If you can you are better off taking a student loan for driver training. Find an accredited school and apply, they can help with the finacial aid. The reason I suggest this is if you train at a company school, you are in debt too them for a contracted amount of time. Basically you are stuck with them and they know it. With your own financing you can do research and go work for whatever company you choose that hires new drivers. Most likely you will have an opportunity to talk to recruiters in person while in training.
CondoCruiser and Rick_C Thank this.
