new on the board please help me choose a school

I've done lots of research these are the schools I'm looking at can any one give me info what they heard about or if they been there these are my choices in top choice is #1 bottom choice is 8 also if you have any sugestions please let me know

1 Delaware Tech (Georgetown, DE) commercial transportation program The 32 week DIPLOMA PROGRAM Diploma Program graduates will test for their CDL "A" operator's license, earn 30 college credits, and receive a college diploma.(instate approximately $1290.00 (out of state approximately 2842.80 plus room and board)

2.Bosie state Larry Selland college of applied sciences The Idaho Center for Professional Truck Driving ( Nampa, ID)15 Week Course - Post Secondary Vocational Certificate 19 college credits Leading to a certificate of completion or a post-secondary vocational certificate(paid internship)

3. fox valley technical college ( Appleton, WI) semi-truck 10-Week Technical Diploma Program
458-310 12 credits(instate approximately $2,000 which includes tuition, books, physical and drug test, and CDL road test fee.)(out of state approximately $5700 plus room $ board)

4. Schuylkill Technology center(Mar-Lin, PA )Commercial Driver’s License Program full-time day class consisting of 400 hours (TUITION: $4,695.00, plus C.D.L. Permit, Motor Vehicle Report, D.O.T. physical, and application fee,Criminal Background check, and Child Abuse Clearance)

6. A.T.S. heavy equipment operator school ( Sun Prairie, WI) A Commercial Driver Program 4 weeks(no info on price yet)

7. Hamrick School (medina Ohio)PROGRAM, 600 MASTER TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM 600 hours (no info on price yet)

8. Western Pacific Truck School (Portland, OR) 4-1/2 week comprehensive program of classroom and
on-the-road training. 180 hours (no info on price yet)

Check with the workforce investment at your local job service and look for training by Sage tech services it is 5 weeks but I just got done in colorado and it is a good school just a bit pricey but well worth it. You can go to any of your schools listed but I have no info on them.

The first thing I would do is check on the licensing requirements for the DMV at each state. Is the school going to provide you with a temporary address to use for DMV? Some states have very specific rules stating out of state students are not considered legal residents. Make sure you have a bogus address to use if DMV requires residency proof. If they want proof that you legally reside there make sure you have that covered. Some want proof, ie: phone bill, cable bill, bank statements. Next I would toss out those over-priced schools on your list. There is no reason to pay more than $2000 for a CDL. Anything higher is a total rip-off. There are plenty of Community Colleges that have reasonably priced CDL courses. One example off the top of my head is Southeast Comm College in Lincoln, NE. I believe their out of state tuition is less than $1000 for a 10 week course. Crete hires from them so I would assume the training is decent. Find the cheapest Community College or Vo-Tech...forget about these 4 and 5K schools.

Don't forget to include loss of income in your calculations - unless you're one of those people who can pull off going to school full-time while working nights and weekends.

that is why I went to workforce I have a part time job and they paid for the everything including the license. I was doing the job from 1-6 am then off to school for classroom from 8:00 am 4:30 pm then once in the range practicing backing ,and on the road it got a little easier for me less hours and more sleep. had to keep job to pay bills but sage was the closest school that was accredited and companies would hire out of .
There was a school closer to me but would not have got a job because it was a cdl mill only about 80 hrs long.
At Sagewere I went it was 150-160 hrs and man they covered everything.
