    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to create a new thread about GCA (yes, actual company Goodwill), which has a 320 hour 4 month, part time CDL course, which I am currently enrolled in. The school costs 3,500, and they let you make payments. They have already graduated a few small classes before me amd each person passed DPS, and have good reviews from trucking companies, and GCA found all of them jobs.

Their instruction is very good, its all top notch. But I wanted to comment that its usually the job that one can get after graduation that really counts, and makes the school worthwhile. They have good connections across the trucking industry including oilfield companies.

Their trucks are good too with 10 speed manual air conditioned tractors. I throught id chime in here in this sub forum about GCA in San Antonio, TX.

    If any questions lemme know.

GENERALLY, GCA amd goodwill historically help the unemployable find employment, but they also have people like me who picked them over roadmasters or sage due to cost and all the reasons mentioned above.

Ill update more often as I am still in class there.

    glenn71 Thanks this.

well, this is post number 5, only 2 more and I can PM the person I need to PM. I will be attending Sage next May when my contract is complete here in Thailand. I wish I could pay in advance because I know it will be more expensive than now. Oh well.

How long has this school been in business?Only Goodwill I've heard of is the store.Actually this school isn't any different then other schools. They let you make payments, they find you a job and they're about the same price for part time. The passing percentile is like 99%.Most guarantee your CDL.Once you've been in trucking long enough you'll see one school is like all the rest same with trucking companies. But hey im glad you're happy with them.Do you have any good leads on a carrier of your choice?

    Oilfield sunoco logistics.

I think this school is superior to others in the amount of time to learn the truck, safety, and experience behind the wheel. No other school in my opinion will give you more hands on one on one with the instructor, than goodwill. And no one will prepare you for keeping your new trucking job in regards to safety and quality of the student.

How do they structure the payment plans? Is it a specific down payment (10-20%) and then monthlies? How long is the loan? Interest?

I have heard that the SA school is very good.
