Me and my buddy are both in positions in our lives right now where we can't go to cdl school locally, and are looking to sign with a company that will school and train us. We are aware that we will be bound by contract, just looking for a company that we can do it for a year or less, or have the option of paying the loan off versus staying the length of the contract incase we decide to leave. We are primarily looking to drive alot of miles and save good money for a few years and invest it into real estate rental properties. We are both single no kids no wife or girlfriend, so hometime isnt an issue. we would like to find a company that does either linehauls, coast to coast, driving in the west, or otr that wont dispatch us to nyc if possible. He lives in columbus georgia, i live in phenix city alabama, we are about 20 minutes from each other currently.

Main point, we just want to make money and team drive together, and dont know who would be the best to apply for. Currently we are looking at CR England, any opinions of them are greatly appreciated as well as any advice you can give because quite frankly we are total newbies at the moment, but feel trucking is right for us. Thanks guys, looking forward to hearing your insight.

So you're looking at CRENGLAND huh,may I ask why this company?Let me suggest look at thousands and thousands of major complaints about this company, all from drivers and many from past students who sadly enough didn't make it all the thru the schooling. You're not going to get rich in trucking, not even remotely close, especially your first yr and teaming.Just take a gander at the pay scale for teams. You're looking at less then $500.00 a week before taxes.

I think Conway and Prime have schools. CRST and England should be your last resort. As patty said. Not sure why some people think they are going to make a fortune in trucking. You will barely have enough to eat on tell you the truth. Also teaming even with your best friend will be filled with drama. But if you can get use to driving while the truck is moving, and getting on with a company that has the miles to run. It can be somewhat profitable.

The company schools who train you are getting cheap labor by paying for your schooling and committing you to a contract. So that is why they are doing it. Some even want you to quit so they get cheap labor and now you owe them for the school. If you can keep a good driving record. The sky is the limit. But accidents are pretty easy to get into so be extremely careful. After a few accidents finding another job is very hard. I know you don't intend to stay in the industry long, but I'm just saying this so you can be on your guard and try to get through your 1st year without any.

Right now im looking for anything other then trucking. The regs makes it impossible to make a half way decent living.Carriers make sure of that. Then come first and unfortunately drivers are taking a huge hit.Its hard on the health too and just not worth it.I think im done with trucking.I went to the doctor last Monday.I have a respatory infection and minor depression.Im on med leave till mon and my doc suggested I quit driving trk and im going to do just that.Anyone whos looking to get into trucking, money better be the last thing on your mind, not the first.

Allright. You 2 . Smack pack.

You have 2 eyes, 2 ears and one mouth.
    Use them in proportion.

Plenty of info on what kind of lubrication to take to CR England with you. Do a little reading first.

Entirely possible , I'll have you splitting 200k gross at the end of year 3, if you follow my master plan but if I'm reading between the lines I don't think you'll make it.

    (Yes - team drivers, and have 4 rentals, so I'm on your wavelengths . . . )

Prime does have a training school, you would have to each hi with a separate instructors but assuming both of you make it through the whole training process you could team
    together.

We are a husband & wife team, been driving for a year in March. Making $1,200-$1,600 a week. Avoid CR England. Try to get on a dedicated account so you'll have a consistent paycheck.
