I have been checking schools in the Indianapolis area and wondered if anyone has any info or attended a school in Indiana.
Things like Price, total hours and how many weeks.

    Thanks

My son just started this week at Truck Driver Institute in South Bend. $4995 up front or $5995 financed. Plus $125 if you stay in motel plus license and permit fees. They also are in Sellersburg and Whiteland.

Three weeks 154 hours, incl 4 hrs night driving.

You can also check out the Celadon Trucking School.. They're on the Internet, and can be contacted by phone. I work for them, so I know they have a school for your license and then put you with a Trainer for a number of weeks. They have a student dormitory and I think they provide meals.. I don't know anything about the costs involved, but it's no free ride.. They will collect back everything associated with your schooling !! It might be a way to get started if you're short on cash up-front.

Thanks Fishnman, I have wondered about Celadon. Can you share some info ???
Maybe like how they are to work for ? How long you have been there , How much is the pay and what type of trucks and transmissions or anything else you would like to share.

Thanks, You can PM me if you like.

Check and see if ivy tech has a trucking program up there. I know Madison Indiana does. Almost took an instructor adjunct job with them but it only paid 38k/yr :-/

Its a sage program through the cc.
You'll save a ton of money if you don't need to get going now.

I can vouche to sellersburg TDI being a good place for cdl training. Good crew of guys. Tdi just teaches you to get your cdl not real backing. Good driving fundamentals through a well populated area though.

Heard the ppl up there hollar about "two fingers" lol.(south bend TDI)

Hey Dennis have you looked into Carter Express in Anderson, Indiana yet? I "heard" they pay for or are hooked up with a school now...I could be wrong. Worth giving then a call, I think the recruiters name is Kelly. They are way better than Celadon.

I second the Carter Express. Worth checking out before Celadon. Also, the Ivy Tech in Muncie has a CDL program. There's a C1 on Raymond Street, but you'll sell your soul to PAM or USA Truck. I think there's a Roadmaster in Indy as
    well.

Ivy tech was a sage program and the total cost for training was 1850 dollars.

This was a couple yrs ago.

Prob 2500 now since ivy tech jacked up tuition etc... Only gonna get higher.
