I'm starting a new thread to help us wannabe's dicide on a GOOD school in LA, Orange, Riverside, San Berdo, CALIF. to get our CDL A through, I keep reading so many bad things about schools. I do know that schools change trainers at times so I would like to hear from people with recent experience, quaility of school, trainers, equipment, size of classes, one-on-one or groups, 2013-2014. Thanks

I can only speak for two cdl schools in southern, ca. One is GSF truck driving school and universal truck driving schools. My general census is ultimately I Have my cdl in hand and will be working soon.
In addition, I feel the truck driving industry schools are not the most professional, not the most trust worthy and you better have a sense how to drive or expect how to drive a commercial vehicle. I can say GSF and Universal truck driving schools are okay schools, they did their part supplied their vehicles provided their service. I'm glad I'm done with the dmv and have my license. If you want to pm feel free too.

CIT is a technical school right? If it is, do they offer financial aid and how are their trucks? I'm looking forward to starting school too, but el toro truck driving school has real messed up trucks so it's a forsure no with them.

I went to toro school. STAY AWAY! The trucks are HORRIBLE they schedule around 15-20 students at the same time with 3 instructors (only 2 instructors on the yard) and you only drive the trucks 15 minutes tops with no help whatsoever . I was lucky enough to have met some cool people, we tried teaching each other.
When you think the instructors is about to help you they just stand in front of the truck with their arms crossed and make you more nervous and then they walk away. waste of money. they make you sign all these papers so you can't get your money back.

I just got my CDL Friday, I went through CIT-LA in Bellflower, I enjoyed the school, no pressure, good instructors, yard trucks were old but do the job.
