In michigan i spent 3k for mine. It has paid off for me. I would never ever send my worst enemy to CR England company school. Horrible in the worst.

Community Colleges often offer CDL training and are usually substantially less than a for profit CDL school. For example the community college here in Jax. FL is $2300 for 8/wk. course vs. $5700 for Roadmaster 4/wk. training. Many people are receiving WIA grants for CDL training....look into it.

In Phoenix there's a school for $1500 with one on one training over 7 days. You already have to have your permit though but they are a licensed 3rd party tester meaning once your instructor passes you you'll have your CDL.

Most Chicago area schools only charge around $1,500. If you're paying more you are getting ripped off.

Is this where you were thinking of going? http://www.midland.edu/transportation/flyer.pdf
There should be other community colleges near you. In AZ they have Heavy Equipment Operations classes at Central Arizona College and you are looking at less than $600 https://aztransmac2.asu.edu/cgi-bin/WebObjects/acres.woa/wa/freeForm5?id=37796
Check the Central AZ link I posted and maybe you can call around for something similar in Texas. -
$1200 for NC Truck Driver Training School at JCC in Smithfield, NC
$500 at Sampson County College in NC -

Crowder College in Neosho, MO, is wonderful! Not much less, but, if you get pre-hired with Conway, they will pay half of your tuition.
