    Hi,

I live in Rockland County, NY. Commercial Driver Training , in Hurley, NY is about an hour from me. Sage in Endicott, NY is doable (but have to stay overnight for the duration of the course). I am checking with Sage to see if they are PTDI certified (in that location) and checking with Commercial Driver Training to see if they provide one-on-one instruction (their Long Island location is PTDI certified - I'm assuming so is their Hurley location).

Would love to hear your thoughts on these two choices - and I'm open to other suggestions as well.

    Thanks.

You will probably be away from home a lot after graduation and with your first company, so I'd go with CDT and be home every night. If CDT is at least 160 hrs., then go with it. That's just my take on it.

You can start submitting applications the first day of school, so it's not too early to research trucking companies. There's some good companies you may not hear about in CDL school.

Some companies only hire from certain schools, such as Superior Carriers and a few others. Most hire from about any 160 hr. school though.
