I am looking for a company that will train me. I am an Illinois resident. As many of you know Illinois is a tough state to aquire tyraining through because they require you to do a complete retest after you return from tinbucktwo school. I already have a learners permit and medical card. I dont want CR England. I talked to Millis and they seemed great but require 500 down and wanted me to give them copy of my last 3 years tax return because my last job was going to charge them for the info. swift left me stranded at a bus station so i returned home on my dime with them. any other suggestions?

Change your domicile/residency out of Illinois; it's easy to do. Then you won't have to retest with those goofy people at DMV. Set up an address in the state where you get your CDL, then you won't have to change it again in Illinois.

    Here's some trucking company schools:

    Pride Transport
    Knight Transportation-good deal with them
Southern Refrigerated Transport-free hotel room plus 2 meals a day.
    Celadon-free room plus 3 meals a day.
    KLLM Transport

My wife and I went to Wolf CDL in Schaumburg. Cost $2,000 then had the freedom to go with any company we wanted. They let you do it in installments or if you can put it on a credit card.

What did you think of Wolf, and how long did it take you complete training?

I also went to Wolf. I liked it overall. It is a low tech school, but they get the job done. They have good instructors and will teach you everything you need to get your CDL. when I went about 2/3 of the people passed the test on the first try and the rest got it the second time.Scheduling is flexible. FFull time you can finish in one Month. I went part time and finished in just over two months

We liked Wolf because it was cheap and had flexible classroom time. It took us about 6 months because we went part time.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was looking at Rock Valley Colleges program, but I think Wolf would be a cheaper deal.

I really don't want to travel that far. I'm West of Rockford.
