I'm signed up at both schools and wondered if anyone had any experience with either?
Ivy Tech = 16 days, 10 hours a day = 160 Hours
Vincennes = 6 Weeks (5 days a week 8 hours a day) = 340 hours
Thoughts? and thanks, Scott

I'm not familiar with either program, but I do know that other programs at Vincennes are top notch. In my personal opinion you can never go wrong with more training. 340 hours will give you double the instruction which can only make you better prepared. That might make the difference between having a long and enjoyable career or getting your rig stuck on a pedestrian bridge in a city park. Okay, I'm kidding with the last bit, but only a little.
What carriers hire graduates from these two programs? That might be something to consider as well. -
340 hr. course will give you more job opportunities.
160 hr. course is adeqate for majority of companies, but the 340 hr. course is added incentive for companies to hire you. -
Vincennes is a sausage fest party school been to a few back in the day but you can get a decent education from there.
You are being taught by adjuncts not real professors at ivy tech. But its cheap! (Well not cheap as a decade ago ....like 300% more actually lol)
I'd go vincennes. But for speed there is a tdi I went to in sellerburg.
Its your typical cdl mill but you get some nice practice driving around Louisville new Albany Jeff & Clarksville.
Great place to learn going forward but only teach you to the test no 90's or 45's backwards unfortunately. Get you in and out in 2 weeks I think it was. -
I think in Indiana , Vincennes is an approved school to hire on with US Xpress and maybe Crete. ^ weeks seems like a long time but if it works for you that is good.
I stopped by Ivy Tech ( Sage Driving School ) in Muncie , IN and talked with a woman named Carol Antrim.
She said they have one on one instruction which I think is great and also they had a deal with Carter Express out of Anderson , IN if you work for them a year they pay the schooling with no payback.
Maybe you already know about this but just thought I would share it.

Carter express is the primary hauler for Texas logistics a large broker in Laredo.
If you can get a dedicated run there it would be easy pies.
(Incase anyone ever calls about the Anderson deal and wants to try and prenegotiate this) -
There is a driver for them on here that got a dedicated route when he started and they offered him a 2015 Freightliner if he took it. I think it was Dayton , Ohio to somewhere in Arkansas. He said he loves it. I think 588 miles one way.

What school did you decide and any info on Carter Express
