This past Thursday I went to meet with the folks at MT Training Center in Grand Prairie, TX.

First off, everyone was super friendly and they all seemed to get along well with each other like family. They even had pictures on the walls from when the staff has had BBQ and Holiday get-togethers.

They had even accommodated our visit. Unbeknown to us, they had a staff meeting that day (no students there) and still made time to meet with us (my Dad and I).

The first person I met was Ms. Cueller who is the Chief Admin (full names omitted) who I had been emailing for several weeks now. She was great. She talked to us about the program and admission requirements. She also gave me enrollment paperwork to fill out although I haven't committed yet. All I have to do is call her about a week in advance when I want to start. Classes start every Monday.

Next I met Mr. Roseman who is the CDL instructor. I really enjoyed talking to him a lot! He's taught at MT for 11 years. He seems to know his stuff really well and he has relationships with many trucking company folks "in high places". I could tell he was very passionate about teaching. I can't wait to be his student! He gave my Dad and I a tour of the facility.

The school is actually expanding. MT is a Adult Vocational School so they teach other things like Welding and other trades. They were in the process of expanding classrooms.

The last person I met was Ms. Rodriguez. She is Director of Admissions and also deals with finance.

The CDL course itself is 4 weeks long, Mon - Saturday, 7am - 3pm.

They train on two different trucks: 10 speed and an I-Shift (I think that's what he called it) so graduates will be familiar with both.

That's all I can remember for now. I may add more later when I remember.

I will try to do a log of my experience after I start in a few weeks.

To anyone that reads this please ask any questions you have about the program. I'll do my best to answer them.
