I'm about to signup with Central Tech in Drumright, OK. Anyone been there or any other schools in Oklahoma?
Their website says they have a 98.7% placement rate over the last couple of years. Just looking for general opinions, advice, whatever...

I've heard they are a good school it would have been my next choice after Crowder Comm College in Neosho Missouri, the thing I didn't like is CT charges higher for out of state students,
Plus Crowder included room and meals and and xtra week for the about the same price as CT which doesn't include meals..Plus Crowder has cool SKID pad course :biggrin_25525:

I didn't wait for the school to place us,we put in our app's with the company we wanted and got a pre-hire before we even start school..So they are paying for our tuition, room and meals.and we start orientation the week after we finish school . Job done !!!

I wouldn't put too much stock in placement percentage numbers the schools provide. Make sure most of your preferred 1st job carriers will honor whatever school you decide on.

If you're planning on commuting to class daily, what part of Oklahoma do you live in?

I live in northern OK. Not too far but would be staying there for the week and come home on the weekends. Thanks for the advice on pre-hire. Makes more sense.

    Good career; trucking!
Start submitting job applications the first week of school. Lots out there to choose from,so submit as many applications as you want, then pick through the job offers. Ignore "experience required" on any trucking company website and apply anyway because many companies bend their own hiring rules for high quality applicants and graduates from good CDL schools.

    Trimac Transportation
    Groendyke Transport
    CTL Transportation
    Southeastern Freight Lines
    Freymiller
    Pride Transport
    Hogan
    ABF Freight
    Dartco
    Tyson Foods
    Waggoners Trucking Co.
    Decker Truck Line
    Safer Transportation
    Navajo Express
    System Transport

Several to pick from; some your school & the other students probably never heard of. Now you have the inside track!
Groendyke and Trimac are two companies worth the extra effort to hire on with. If you're willing to go the effort for tankers, it's a great career and can eventually lead to those $100K jobs. Get the tanker/hazmat endorsements plus TWIC ID Card. Google for nearest TWIC office.
