Hello everyone, recently I graduated from Roadmaster, hope some of you will find my review useful. (English is my 2nd language so do not be a grammar nazi
    please).
First you probably want to know if I can recommend this school. My answer: YES BUT , if you not quick learner , if you like to take time to learn new stuff then probably this school is not for you due then in 3 weeks instructors have to put in your head A LOT of information, which you of course have to remember to get your CDL license,
I would strongly suggest to get you CDL PERMIT before you will go there , you can find book either online or free at nearest DMV office (just ask for CDL driver handbook ) , due that on your 1st week instructors help people yo get CDL permit, if you have it you can concentrate on another important things, like fill out your log book, understand 70, 60 hours rules , how pass pre-trip inspection .
On 2nd week you will start to drive around course, and city , and learn how to back up (Florida rules will require you to pass 3 back up test : straight back up , offset , alley docking and parallel)
On 3rd week you will pretty much do exams in the morning ( PTI , couple/uncouple) afternoon they will give you time to drive around and fix your problems with back ups. On Thursday , Friday of 3rd week you will have test with independent instructor . If you do fine on Monday 4th week you will already will have your CDL :D.

About hire , for 3 weeks when I have been there , 2 recruiters guys showed up in class to convince us join there company , one from Werner , one from Covenant , so pretty much Roadmaster work very close with those tracking companies, if you did not kill anyone , or did not ran into 5 cars, AFTER GRADUATION YOU WILL BE HIRED by one of them , all you have to do it's fill up an application.

Facility is ok , it's not bad but not super great also , but hey , after 1st week 95% of time you will be outside , so be ready to sweat you ### of, due that in Florida is already 90 outside

About instructors, trust me they will do there best to help you get your license , just PLEASE DO NOT ACT LIKE SMART ### , if you in a school that means that you do not know anything about truck , so shush , listen and learn , show them that YOU WANT TO LEARN , and trust me you will get your licensee in 3 weeks

About money : That the only one thing which I do not like , 6 grand for 3 weeks of training is't a little to much

That ' s pretty much what I wanted to write today about my experience with Roadmaster, if you will have more questions, do not be afraid to ask

There's a couple dozen companies that will hire you other than Covenant or Werner. Tell us the good news; which company did you choose?

Knight transportation , due that there facility not far from my home , and after 2 month I can drive by myself :biggrin_25514: , plus after 1 year I will be able to get myself paid vacation. Also they if I will like i can fly home, instead of be on bus (Knight will reimburse part of which they would pay for bus ticket) , and I do not have to wait for 2 weeks waiting to get back to Florida only with some load, or after my request to have some time off .
3 other company wanted to put me on greyhound bus , where I will have to spend 16-17 hours , to get to wherever they need me . Not will work for me

Knight is OK. You must be close to Lakeland.

I went to the Tampa location back in 2012. They had folks from Stevens and Werner come out. No covenant. Guess things have changed. Definitely got the test part out of the way before I got there. Knocked out the tankers and hazmat before I got there too. I'd also say to look on youtube and get familiar with pretrip inspections there. That puts folks a few steps ahead of the game.

I went to Roadmaster in Orlando back in 2007, great school, little bit pricey, but it was worth it in the end.
