Wanting to start driving after the Navy??

I am currently in the Navy. Ive been in for a little over 7 years. I am looking at getting into the trucking business after i get out in May. I have been looking at Roehl, Watkins Shepard..I am currently stationed in Washington state but i am planing on moving to the Denver area after i get out. I was wondering if anybody had any other information on schools and companies in the Denver area and the two companies mentioned above..Thanks for your time..

Rocko,

I'm in the Denver area...

Most of the big companies have terminals here, though I'm not sure about Roehl. I do know Watkins/Shephard does.

There's an outstanding school, too (at least, I think it is - I just graduated). Check out Sage, in Henderson CO (suburb of Denver - very easy to get to, also).

The instructors are experienced drivers and very good at teaching.

There's one student in the cab at a time - so, no sharing of drive hours.

I'm not sure they're GI Bill, but I know they are on the "approved" list for WIA (I used that to pay for school - my GI Bill benefits are long since expired)

The short of it is, even though I have no experience attending other schools, I'd recommend Sage, hands down, over any of 'em.

Help 2 Driving school

I went to driving school while I was on terminal leave and the education office paid every penny of it. I don't know if you are to close to your separation date but I think it would be well worth looking into. Kirk
