I am scheduled to attend the driver solutions school at Little Rock AR on the 16th of june, any information as to what I can expect would be welcome. Also, the recruiter tells me that USA trucking is interested in hiring me if I am succesful in getting my cdl, I was hoping to start with PAM as I would like to be based in Kentucky. So USA or PAM ?:biggrin_25511:

I would check out other options before signing with a company check out company web sites and call around.

Please reconsider your decision! Driver Solutions schools are not certified by The Professional Truck Driver Institute and they have had several complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Their "network" of trucking companies is a joke. You will not average 2500 miles a week, and you certainly will not make $40,000 your first year. You are getting ready to make the biggest mistake of your life and get yourself and your family into financial disaster.

driver solutions does not own or run any schools as far as i know. what they are, basically ,is a hiring agency for several medium sized co's and BTW PTDI, if you knew better means JACKS###! all you have to do to get that is meet minimum state requirements and pay thousands of dollars to get it. "PTDI" is a very misleading grade as far as trucking schools go
i don't know about the others, but i have had a good experience with USA (mostly) so far
i have gotten 2200-2700 miles per week during the "slow" season(winter) and 2700-3800 thru the rest of year.if you count school and training in that first year, you certainly will not make 40K.

    opinion/personal experience at best.
to summarize, would i call driver solutions again, NO, i would call a company directly and cut out the middle man. did they deliver what they said they would, yes, although the 40K is debatable.

howdy jugs, just wanted to say that I will also see you the 16th because I am also going to the same school you are but I am going with PAM, not saying it's the best of choices because to be honest I don't really no just as new to this as you but I have heard a lot of bad stuff out there about company's on here but at least from what I have heard about PAM it isn't the worst, I understand where people are coming from as far as the warning about driver solutions but at the same time some of us don't have the $5,000 to go to private training schools all tho all I can do is just pray and get threw the 1st year of BS that people are telling me that I will have to put up with.

i wouldn't go with PAM for the fact that they have all automatics. not a good thing for future employers who will have to train you to shift before cutting you loose. and they WILL insist on it!
