Montgomery GI Bill and Truck Driving School I will be living in the Knoxville Tn area after retirement from the Navy. Still have over a year to until retirement. I am leaning towards trying to get a job with Crete Carrier Corp. Does anyone know of a truck driving school that takes the Montgomery GI Bill?? I have been on Crete's web site and they do not appear to reimburse for school or have a company run school. Any help is apprecaied. Thanks. Monty

Monty, When you get close to retirement or even now. Check with your local Unemployment Office and see if there is any school that will take the GI bill. (for retraining in a new profession), Check with the Veterans Administration and see if they offer anything in the retraining in the career of your choice. Talk to other guys you know that went into trucking after leaving the service and see what they did with the GI Bill. Maybe a College in your area might offer truck driving as a course. Don't give up you still have sometime to check into this area. Good Luck

MGI BILL Thanks for the advise. I do have time to figure this out. Was hoping a former military member might have already gone through this and knew the answers. I drove OTR for a little less than a year. I let my license expire. Should have just kept it but would have needed training anyway after 20 years of not driving. Worst case scenario, I could hook up with a Company like Millis and get my CDL and training through them. Both Crete and Millis seem to have good reputations. Crete does have a terminal in Knoxville, so I thought that would be a good fit. Also, on there web site they mention that former military have a very good chance of being hired. Thanks for the response. Monty
