Driver's solutions will accept almost anybody so long as you are paying up there money. With a felony 9 years ago, the chances of you going to work with pam or USA truck is nill.
Most decent schools require that your felony is 10 years old or they make you sign an employment waiver. (meaning, they know from the outset that they probably can't put you to work)
You are better off staying here in Ga. Go to a tech college, and then work your tail off finding a company to hire you. You're truly wasting your time and money going out to Arkansas. -
JRide,
I've got a good man for you, if your company still has a truck open. I trained him about 3 months ago, probably one of the best students we've had but he had an armed robbery in 1988. Clean ever since. -
I've delivered pizza for 4.5 years and am really considering entering the trucking industry. I have a bachelor's degree but I get sick at the thought of working a 9 to 5 and having to wear heals and a dress suit. In 2006 I went on a 2 month/10,000 mile road trip in which me and my bf slept in the front seats of my '93 Escort every night. We visited every state West of Missouri except for 3. We'd usually park at a truck stop but used scenic viewpoints on the sides of the roads if we couldn't find anywhere else to park for the night. (Thanks, btw, for blocking the morning sun from our eyes with your big rigs.) I remember one day we covered about a third of the perimeter of Montana. I miss the freedom of being able to see the country and am getting depressed still living in this same town I grew up in. I go on country cruises every day, usually for at least an hour but it's always in circles and I hate the fact that I never get anywhere. (I put about 2,000 miles a month on my car and only leave the county a few times a year.) I think being a truck driver would be the perfect career for me. I live by myself so I really don't have any life circumstances stopping me from doing this.
I went to Monster and entered "Driver" and the only thing that came up was Driver Solutions. It says:
Does this school sound like a very good opportunity or should I look elsewhere?
BTW: I'm broke as a joke and my student loans become due next month so there's no way I could afford tuition anywhere up front.Last edited by a moderator: May 24, 2009
