| Swift, prime inc, schneider, just name a few.I think you dont pay for school but you would have to sign a contract stating that you would have to stay employed thru them for a such a time.Schneider is 18 months requird, not sure about the other two. |

| Schneider doesn't require a commitment of employment. They only require you to pay back the loan for the training. You can leave the day you obtain your CDL and all they will ask in return is your payment for the training. I am currently scheduled to start classes with Central Ref. on Monday... The only out of pocket is Food and CDL Permit Test. They will also pay 150 a month towards your balance of 3000 and you only have to pay 100 a month...25 weekly. This is for Solo though! |

| Schneider is closing down their schools at some point in November. There is some information on that in the Schneider threads.

| Almost all schools require you to survive 2-3 weeks without pay. As for other schools, they usually require you to finance the entire costs... which is usually not helpfull for the average person trying to get into trucking... imo. I've looked into may Trucking Schools as well as Company Training, I've found most of the Company Trained students are a little happier with their outcome. The company they train with will usually pay a portion or forgive the debt (after a set term of employment), which for the folks who can't afford to give up any of their checks is a godsend! This is just my 2 cents, but feel free to correct me or disagree, I don't mind a heated discussion... |

| Most of the third-party schools can finance your education, and if they are company approved, the company will reimburse the student for all or a portion of the tuition. I went through a third-party school, and so did my hubby. We were both happy with the training we got. We live near a school, so it was a good option for us, as we could be at home every night! That may not be an option for everyone. The school we both went to had arrangements with a hotel near the school, and your stay there was part of the financing.
