So Cal Schools? I am looking to go to a school here in the Los Angeles area. I have contacted CRST but see some bad reviews. I have also looked at Swift in Phoenix, but again found some bad reviews. Any others I should look at? I really don't have the money up front so am looking at schools or companies that have "sponsorships". Any others besides CRST that have a training school here in So Cal?

I'm from Maine and in a similar situation trying to figure out if Northeastern Technical Institute is the only option or how good the education. Good luck with your searching though.

Good luck to you as well. Its seems several of the schools including CRST and a couple others have schools close to each other so I am going to take a day and go check them all out.

Thank you, Craig. Any info you get will be appreciated. Does anybody here happen to know of the Dootson School of Trucking, Pilot Trucking School, Skyway Trucking School, Dynasty Trucking School, Las Americas Trucking School, Sky Bay trucking School? Those are the ones I found on the yellow pages website, and are the closest to me. The Advanced Driving School in Fontana is the next closest one.

WARNING - Stay away from Skyway trucking school in Hesperia, CA. This is a very poor school. Old truck that do not work, unwilling trainers. One trainer will make you feel as you are a loser. Their 4 weeks course is more like 4 months. No classroom time. No real teaching. You are shown how to do the skills one time and one time only, after that it is up to you to get it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY TRY ANOTHER SCHOOL!
