Bug Trucking school sending me for a "ride"?

I've decided a few weeks back to pay out of pocket for training, and I start within the week at a truck driving school. The cost total was just over $3K and it lasts for aproximately 3 weeks. Does this sound legit? Everything I have heard so far leads me to believe that the school is not a scam or a farm-out program. Have had some set backs finding employment. Had 3 out of my 6 aps. return so far with "We regret to tell you we are unable to offer a position at this time." A little frusterating, but I'm not out of hope yet, I'm not even thru school. But as I have less time to apply, I hope I'm not holding a CDL at the end of it with no where to go to when the music stops. I just want to do my part, be the best I can, learn from the experienced drivers and do it right. I'm not trying to be holy or anything, I just want to make a real go of it, and hang in there for the tough times I know are in the neighborhood being a rookie. Thanks you guys for taking time with us rooks, some of us are going to try real hard to make you proud.

The industry is very tight right now. Keep looking, you'll turn up something yet.
