Just graduated from Carolina Trucking Academy, and can't say enough good things about them. Victor is one of the best teachers I have ever had...he has that special gift that great teachers have-the ability to discern what each student needs (whether that is a kick in the pants, a reasoned/logical approach, or whatever).

I've got a buddy that lives in Raliegh.....might want to go to school.

Do they offer any kind of financing? Are they 3rd party testers or do they require the state to test you?

They do not finance at all...strictly cash, credit card, or check. They are a third party tester.

Eight, but it varies from class to class. They start a new class every Monday. My last week there, they only had one or two students in the upcoming class. Regardless, they will not start more students than they can adequately instruct in the allotted 160 hours.

I'm enrolled and scheduled to start at Carolina Trucking Academy on the 23rd. Wondering about a few things. I'm going through the WIA Dislocated Worker program so the school is paid.

So I'm wondering about staying in a hotel during the week. I've been told M-Th students stay in a local hotel. Is this true? Also, do they really push HazMat endorsements on you?

My biggest question is about how they help find you employment after the school. Did you have reps come into the school? And where are you folks working now after going through CTA? I've seen a few major carriers only hire graduates from specific schools... CTA not being one of them.

I have more questions but thought I'd start of with these...

    Thanks.

I can't tell you, I don't know. I did not stay at the motel while attending in the spring.

Hey, I'm enrolled and scheduled to start at CTA in a couple weeks and noticed you had mentioned on the site you had gone there also.
Quick question... do you recall what companies sent recruiters in to the school or even who you had gotten pre-hire letters from?

I've been looking at a LOT of companies and noticing that alot call for specific schools (most being 240 or 320 hour programs) that don't include CTA.

Thanks for taking the time to read this...
