As there are no local schools in the Tallahassee area, I am looking at National Truck Drivers School in Green Cove Springs, FL. The advantage that they offer is that you do most of the classroom work on-line which will save a lot of out of town living expenses.
Does anyone here have any experiences or know anything about them? I would appreciate any feedback positive or negative.
Thanks

Sorry I have no info on them, However the market the way it is you might not want to go to "private" trucking school. CNN reported last week that there is a lot of people doing or did what you plan on and not able to find work. You might want to look at a Company that offers training and a job when done, like Knight, Swift ect. Yes some might not be the best in pay but you will have a job.

I just got started with national training. As far as how good they are I have a good feeling about my training. but what do I know im new to the world of truckers. LOL
However they are VA Approved for the military and are nationally accredidated, which has to stand for something. They have a 85% job placement from the State of florida records.
I sent for more info on their website and recieved a call the next day. By the following week he drove to my apt and we talked for a couple of hours, in times pissing him off because after all he is a recruiter. But I think its ok, you will still have to obtain a medical DOT exam and a cdl learners permit before I step into the truck. So I will keep updating on how its going. I never knew you had to learn about the suspension and streering systems or about braking systems
Im having fun and learning very easy. Im not one to go to college so I was very nervous at first -
I attended a private CDL school and my experience was a positive one. I will say this though, check out the school thoroughly before you make your decision. not all of them are accreditted. Ialmost made that mistake, luckily I investigated. Also check your DAC and your backround before hand, I was almost sidelined by a false statement on DAC put there by someone I never even worked for and had to file a dispute to have it removed. And last stay away from company training, yeah youl have a job but your stuck there until you pay them back. No matter what you ll have to work for the crap companies for at least 6 mo. before the good companies will even look at you.

i started the online classes, the school is really great. I planned on going to the march 16th class. But since im under 21, the school wont finance my tuition since alot of companies only hire 21 and older since i cant go out of state being 19 years old. So the school said im a high risk if their lender financed the tuition for me. So i gotta try to finance through my bank. Hopefully, but yes, id deffinitely recommend the school
