Friday and Saturday of the second week are test days. We were tested over all the maneuvers we learned during the week. I only messed up on one maneuver, which was blind side parallel.

yeah, that just sounds really, really, really hard. Blind side parallel.

I can hardly parallel park my little Saturn and I'm looking at everything from the car behind me to the car in front of me. And I can see both front and back of my car. I can't imagine parallel parking a huge, long truck on the blind side without some serious assistance from a helper!!

Well sight side and blind side parallel are both much easier than parallel parking a car. You just need to know how to read your trailer and get out and look.

Yeah, that's one thing I've learned here on 'the boards' is how to reach your goal. G.O.A.L. = Get Out And Look

getting out to look is one of the most important parts of backing.

Today was my first day on the road, and boy was it fun. I drove for about 2.5 hours today. My only problem was a bit of lane control (expected from a new driver on his first day on the road), and signs. There is so much going on in a tractor its hard to notice all the signs.

My lane control was much better today. The instructor dozed off for a few minuted while I was driving, so I guess that means I am doing a good job. Today we drove to Columbus up Pine Mountain and down to Macon, then back to Atlanta. I had a total of 3.25 hours today.

Well I am finally finished with classes. I go to the DDS to take my test Tuesday. I am very well prepared on everthing; pre trip, in cab, air brakes, parking manueveurs, turns and everything. I am excited but nervous.
