Im driving a 460xt 2003 mack limited edition have to say its the only mack Ive ever liked I pull a dump trailer hauling scrap Im grossed out sometimes around 100,000 that 460 actually will pull a hill pretty descent.

My '00 CH613 with the E7 was a #### fine truck, 978,000 when we traded it in. Only had one overhead done and that was at about 200K. The worst years for the Mack engines was '04, '05, lots of turbo issues.

I have a 2001 vision its been a great truck things to check if its still has a plastic radiator get ready to put it it in the trash can if you luck out like me and previous owner rebuilt the motor when they did the cam change over your set

Is a 2005 mack chn613 with a 380hp and 10 maxitourque

380-410 maxi cruise file is actually a good performer its a high torque and high torque rise file like 1600lbs oversize injectors will really make it come alive

i have a 2000 mack vision with the e-7 460. its overall been a pretty good engine i have had a few issues with it but it does have 1.3 million on the clock now. inframe at 940k then ate a camshaft last year. at like 1.2m and and new engine wiring harness last fall. i replaced all the injector eups this spring and exaust manifold gaskets. but its a strong running truck always grossing 90k-105k. and gets decent fuel millage doing it.
the truck is pretty decent, its comfortable, hasn't had any issues you wouldn't expect for a truck of this age. breaks, break cans tires, rebuilt basically the entire suspension and steering this spring. rebuilt a rear end chase the occasional air leak but it is a 18 year old truck with well over a million on the clock.Last edited: Jul 18, 2018
SAR Thanks this. -
an 05 it will be just the emmisions junk, turbo and fan hubs that give the most problems

Pre-aset E7 is a solid runner. Its been said earlier here that the early E-tech's had cam problems (98-01 or so) but if your buying one now its older and most likely had the issues fixed. The 99 we just got has a mack re-man it so its been updated. My dads had 3 E7s and won't run anything else. As long as you take care of them they'll run and run.
Be advised if your coming out of a 550 cat you'll be disappointed in the power department
