It may be the way it is with some drivers, but it reveals more about character and work ethic that a person, because he didn't get his way on equipment, would have no problem abusing equipment owned by another person. Not that the driver could just go somewhere else... no, he decides to stay where he is and destroy someone elses property.

We have more bad drivers because it really makes no sense to be a driver in a country where you can be O/O. It takes to be idiot to chose to work for someone when you can be on your own and make 2-3 times as much money when being on the road less.

So, companies who hire drivers are forced to pick from pool of idiots anyway. They have a choice lazy, retarded yet demanding bunch of morons and will treat them... accordingly. Nobody have a problem with that, it makes a lot of sense (except for the ret*rds, who believe otherwise)

Now, according to 2005 OIDA statement every 3rd truck is driven by his owner - that's where real trucking is in America and thats what I'm always talking about. That is way to go.

How does that compare to you Euro bizarro-World? Well, you are nothing but company drivers - thats what Socialism is all about = no equipment possession. That's why you get with that "special" treatment with electronic gizmos taking care of your lazy, retarded as*ess, because system doesn't need competition. i think you dont know anything about socialism

insocialism we have far more owner operators than today

also you were not allowed to have more than one truck my father have and it was cost effective to him to have this truck registered on somebody else pay company expenses health insurance pension Insurance pay for somebody else education driver licence and driver for this truck ( also health insurance pension insurance for driver)

since he always had more than one truck and also had construction machines he need more people ( for each truck/machine need one man)

but there was far more state owned companies largest in my country has 2500trucks and at that moment was one of few strongest speditions in europe

today largest company in my country has maybe 150 trucks


driver who drive for that state owned company has far better working condition than today better salary
salary was always on time

at that time as driver you was considered as very good profession
today drivers are lowest class people

 

Thats the sad part - Europeans love socialism, missing it a lot and... there you go YOU HAVE IT!

But you can always come to US forums run by big fleet "drivers" to read about how bad it is here and feel better lol

 

drivers from company I work for haul a lot to EU and they love European socialism, they say it is better for driver, but not so good for owner, but they say there is the hidden danger in European social obligations. and I agree - European system is not so reliable as it looks. some stress and EU system may be involved in dominos effect of strikes!

 

About the same as we have. Remember that Europe is not one country. They propably didn't teach you that in school, and it's not a surprise.

US O/Os are not making much money, most of you seem to have hard time keeping your crappy trucks alive without going bust.

 

Because me and other europeans want to learn more and know what happens on the other side of the world. There just isn't much to learn or any technical innovations to adopt from USA. US citizens don't have much clue what's happening outside their borders.

I read this thread because my friend just got a new Prostar. He used to be O/O but his crappy KW blew the engine and he has to earn some money as a company driver to be able to repair it.

 

EU will be done in a couple of years and I'm happy for it. USA will also go down and I'm even more happier. No more FED messing with our economies.
