D13 fuel sustem is twin coil injector unit. Yep, more simple injectors like on D12A-C are better but not for new emission laws.
Both ISX and D13 got complicated aftertreatment system with DPF, EGR, SCR. And I'd say Volvo EGR+VGT unit is better.
Unfortunatly Euro-3 D13 and Euro-3 ISX will never be available in USA and EU, may be somewhere in Mid East ore SA -
A guy I work with has a 2010 780? (big mid-roof) 500Cummins/13spd, he says he loves it,decent MPGs,only had 1 EGR code that took a Cummins dealer about 45 min to fix.He also said that the only thing he would change if he could would be the weight, its kinda heavy.

Volvo Mechanic told me D12 is much better than D13. If you have D12 he sad never, never change it for D13. Newer engine more problems. Good luck.
